it is a interesting novel. Kyrie seems to have the combination of brains and beauty but likes to drink and live carefree.like when she did ecstasy and suggested to go for a drive in her bmw coupe.

president Obama

I am proud to be apart of making history by voting yesterday.It was emotional for me because I remember all the cake sales to raise funds and standing on the streets distributing vote for Obama flyers. I hope to live so I can look back and tell young kids that I vote in this election that made history.

The last debate

The final debate was not that interesting as the other two debates.They spend alot of time talking about Joe the plumber than talking about the real issues that matters to voters.John McCain wanted to focus more on attacking Obama on his past relationship with a former domestic terrorist who was against the war in the back in 60's.When Obama was eight years old.But I did not hear them debate about the war today and ending the war.Bring the troops home.

In this play the soldiers view Americans soldiers in a negative way.They thought Americans were just meatheads and they live by their cowboy policies by just coming into the war and just blow up objects and firing their guns.Without having a strategic plan that were lead them to victory.

The second debate

The two candidates are talking less about the war and focus more on the economy. They both agree to cut funds for the war.The soldiers who are looking at this debate and put themselves in harms way for political reasons must feel angry and not appreciated for their services for the country.That the government is focusing more on wall street and less on them.I think obama won the debate and was more confident in his delivery and connect more to the audience.

The bail out

I think that some of the money from the 700 billion dollars bail out to wall street should go the families of the soldiers still fighting today to protect this country.This would make them feel like the government and citizens still care and appreciate them risking their lives everyday for our freedom.This will be a relief on them that have to send money back to support their families.This money will be spend by the families into the market which would help to stimulate the economy.

I found it was sad and disrespectful to the decease bodies that they were just reduce to numbers and was not honor at death by announcing their names.It shows that they remove the names so it would not be personal and it is was just another casuality of war.

I found it interesting that everytime something bad happen they always relate it back to something sexual.They equate sex with death.Although it had nothing to do with sex it was just a way for them to express lost of power.So they view sex has a weakness.

I can respect the fact that they were not fighting for political reasons and that they honor it has their job.It was a part of their tradition that they join because their fathers was once a member of the group.So they join to carry on the legacy of the men in their family history.

I did not understand some of the words used in this play, but it was still interesting to read.The soldiers had a power struggle and argued and fight about leadership.They all wanted to be commander in charge of the mission.Because it was a volunteer army the government accepted them without military training.So they did not have the discipline of a soldier to carry out orders.I think that is why all the fighting among themselves took place.

VP debate

I saw the Vice president debate last Thursday night. I did not hear anything about bringing the war to an end. Joe Biden was more informed about domestic and foreign issues and Parlin seems to be reading from a script. When the soldiers look at these debates and realize that the war is no longer the number one issue. They believe that the people that they are fighting for no longer cares about them. That they fail the country and others who depended on them for victory.I can relate the soldiers from the war in Iraq to the soldiers in Jarhead.

Shooting Wars

I think that Jimmy Burns went from being an arrogant person thinking he knows everything, then he change to a more humble person after he went to the war. The war change him mentally. He believe that if anyone who said that the war had no effect on them mentally that they were not human. Even he still kept his naked woman screen savers to maintain his image
he was not thinking about sleeping with those woman at the time.

my views on jarhead

I think that Swofford had mental problems before he went to the war and it continue after he left. The war did not change him mentally.He was upset that he did not kill anyone during the war for him means that he fail himself and the country. That this would make him look weak among the other soldiers.That if he survive the war he has no real stories to bring back with him.
I think he had a conflicted soul. Some days he felt strongly about his views on the war and some days he oppose his views on killing soldiers.

9/11 twin towers

when I saw that video about 911 in class. I remember that day so vividly because it had such a

deep impact in my life. I knew from that day my life would never be the same. Also the way we

live as citizens of this country will change. When I saw the twin towers burning it felt like I was

looking at a scene for a movie. I could not register in my brain for the first few minutes that what

I was seeing is not some special effects for a movie and it was real. I was on that block with the

the towers just two days prior to that day. So for me I thought about what if it was on that day

would I still be alive today.
